“When leg muscles are active, they cause blood to pump upwards,” this researcher explains. Therefore, an exercise bike session would not be expected to lower blood flow to the brain.
That's an interesting point. But considering how exercise in people with myalgic encephalomyelitis causes havoc there may be a factor that exercise causes more blood to move out of veins exacerbating the problem.
I wonder if this is the exact reason I feel better walking slowly than standing still.
On the rare occasion I am able to shop in person, I find myself rocking in place while standing in the check out line.
